Appian, a provider of a low-code development platform that enables companies to build business applications, said it has acquired an RPA provider to add robotic process automation to its arsenal. Virginia-based Appian snapped up Spanish firm Novayre Solutions. For Appian, launched in 1999, the acquisition is its very first and thrusts it into the explosively growing RPA market. The company said it will leverage Novayre’s Jidoka RPA platform to deliver a “one-stop shop” for automation.

The company said it also will deliver a governance program that will enable organizations to work with software from other RPA vendors including Blue Prism and UiPath and to manage the monitoring, scheduling and reporting of digital workers.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
